Hi, I have a Koralia 4 powerhead in my tank and i'm about to get a bubble tip anemone. i know i need to cover the powerhead to prevent the anemone from getting sucked in but for the life of me i can't seem to find the right material. what is the name of a good plastic mesh that is easy to maintain that i can fit around a Koralia type powerhead? what do you guys use?

i went to home depot looking for a plastic mesh but i don't know the "name" of what to buy. the closest i found was the stuff you put on the bottom of drawers; a pvc grip type foam....

Arts and crafts stores has it. I got mine from Michaels. It comes in a variety of colors. I believe it was in the knitting section.

Why do people find the need to use mesh on powerheads? Koralias arent the meanest craziest powerful pumps out there, if the anenome is happy and attaches himself to a spot in your tank he will be fine. I bought a large rbta and threw it in my 90, since has split into 2 and i have a tunze 6045, 6025, and a vortech mp20 turned 3 quarters of the way up and i dont use the foam cover that was supplied with the pump. Mesh is gonna clog fast in my opinion.

i think it's a chance issue--i've heard that bubble tip anemones in particular roam around the tank a lot until they find their 'permanent' spot. and my Koralia 4 does churn some water. i don't think i want to risk it, if a floating swimming anemone gets within 4 or 5 inches of that Koralia i could easily see it getting sucked up. plus i've read on another board someone's horror story of a bta that got sucked up in a Koralia. maybe after the bta settles i'd be willing to go without some type of mesh protection but i'm a little paranoid because this is my first anemone...

Sorry it took so long to respond. It doesnt have a name on the sticker. It comes in a 1'x1' piece.
