Usually it will be your local Reef club.

Most people will not ship aquariums due to cost so you could look in your local papers classifieds or locally on craigslist or look on fish forum classifieds for used equipment and then theres the obvious ebay. You may could find info on used equipment from your lfs also. I don't know of any sites for this. All I can think of. It took me around 6 months of constantly looking to find a bigger used tank(found on craigslist pretty local). Just keep an eye out and something will eventually turn up.

Besides craigslist? nowhere. Way too expensive to ship and people dont put much stuff in the newspaper anymore.

I could usually find aquariums locally but people wanted to sell the whole set-up and convincing my wife to spend anywhere from 2000 to 5000 bucks was out of the question. I found a tank, stand and sump with most of the plumbing and now am gathering the rest of the equipment a little at a time,"under the radar" of my wife. When I get it going she's gonna be like "where'd all this stuff come from?"...lol
