Best way to acclimate new fish?

All you should need to Drip Acclimate is some Small tubing... I forget the size, a good run of it at our local LFS is 5 bucks? I think it does 10-15 feet or something. But the fish is going to come in a styrofoam container. which you can use to acclimate the fish. I just normally rinse it out with water from the sink. have something to slightly tilt the contrainer, float for 20-25 minutes... then Put the fish in the container with its water... then run the tubing from the aquarium, you put a knot in it, not to tight but then when you start the siphon just make sure it does a constant steady dripping, should be a few small drops every second... Thats how I do it, Then I let them sit there for about 40-50 minutes normally, depending on the fish.

Some sites say the acclimation time should be 2-3 hours, some say never more then an hour.. *shrug*... I would just follow LiveAquarias acclimation guide... They have one there for people who dont drip acclimate. and the guide comes with every fish you have shipped to you Lord knows I have 3 of them already LOL.

 

it's overnight so sounds like every 15 minutes isin't to bad.
When i got my clowns from the lfs i would add a little tank water every 5 minutes for half an hour.
