i've got a blueline 40 hd-x pump, in service for about a year. i've broken it down once about 4 months ago and scrubbed the impeller and input/outputs with a toothbrush. It's starting to make a little more noise, so i'd like to clean it well.

what's the best way to clean the water flow parts of the pump - should it be soaked in something (i think i read vinegar somewhere)

    thanks!!

Yeah, Put it in vinegar. Vinegar is a weak acid that will disolve any calcium build up. Maybe do it a few times if necessary.. especially if you still see anything built up on it. You will see it fizz if it's dissolving calcium.

I'll second that, I run my powerheads in vinegar occasionally to clean em off.
