What is the best way to clean test tubes after testing the water? I usually just rinse them out very well with hot tap water, a few times with some extra rodi, then twice with tank water... Seems to have worked fine for the last year since I started the tank.

However, I was away for the summer and came up once every week or two to fill the top-off and check on stuff, but I haven't tested the water. I just realized I didn't clean the test tubes from the last time I used them, 3 months ago, and I'm having a harder time getting them clean.

(Btw who would of thought that the tank looks better than ever since I started leaving it alone. Every wall covered with coralline) ;)

I rinse with tap water also. When testing i rinse the tube with tank water. Then i put in the water to test. Hope it makes sense.

I rinse with tap water. That's what the instructions say. If you do a final rinse with saltwater you're going to have salt residue in there.

For this time around, you could probably use vinegar to get them clean again, then just rinse with tap water from now on.

I usually rinse first with tap water and keep a small bucket filled with rodi water on hand for a final rinse.
