Best way to elevate LR?

    I'm getting ready to put my LR in my tank and Would like to elevate it with out using baserock. Whats the best way to do it?

    I'm not sure exactly what you're asking, but some people use PVC pipes or eggcrate to elevate their rock off of the bottom.

    You can cut PVC to make little poles to set the rock on or make racks out of PVC and egg crate.

    Well that seems so easy :) I will just cut PVC pipes to 3" or so and place the rock on that :)

    That is what I did recently. Works nice.

    The best way would be custom acrylic, but certainly not the easiest. I like the PVC/eggcrate methods for their ease.

    Here is my rock.. I dont want to lose 3" of it to sand.. The gray sheet is to support the two large rocks.

    I do not like using pvc simply because it gives a good, hollow place for poo to hide and you will never get to it.

    what about the PVC pipe with caps on it with some kind of weight in it...using a nylon rod to hold the rock in place...this will work with the smaller rocks anyhow.
