I want to get some more current going in my 125. I was thinking of getting Hydor Koralia Circulation Pumps/Powerheads but wasnt sure which one to get. The 4 is 1250 GPH thats the one I was thinking but not sure.

What do you have providing flow now? Iv heard about 6-10 turn over per hour is pretty good for a reef.

Ive got a blue line aqua pump 30 x which puts out 1110 thru 4 heads. thats 8.8 times the tank size which is alright, but I'd still like to get some more flow thru there.

    a 125 is a 6ft tank I believe (Not 100% sure)

for a reef tank , many go as high as 50 x the tank volume per hour

so you will have no problem adding a K4 to that size tank IMO

Absolutely right. 6-8 times/hour if very low, usually for a reef tank you want to go for somewhere about 30x. I would definitely add the Koralia 4.

If you have a mixed reef then 30x is perfect. 50x is great if you have mainly all SPS. Ricordias and leathers and especially a Coral Elegance needs less flow

Even in a mixed reef you can get flow surprisingly high with excellent results. Most softies will thrive under high flow, as long as it isn't a constant direct beating from a powerhead. Right now in my 29g I have 2 koralia 1's, a MJ1200, a rio 180 behind my rock to keep water circulating and am utilizing the return as directed flow and want more. I have a couple softies and they are doing amazingly. I have a small nepthea tree frag thats doubled in size in the last couple weeks and xenia/zoas are spreading life wildfire.

I'm still trying to plan out the corals I want to add to the tank, but I'm gonna go ahead and get the koralia 4. Thx for the advice.

For a 6 foot long 125. I would suggest you get 2 of the K4's, not just one.......
