I am letting my tank cycle with live rock and contemplating fish. I want to do a reef but the fish i generally gravitate toward are the more aggressive fish. Are any of these fish reef safe? Or are any of them okay to keep in a reef without the vulnerable invertebrates, just with the corals? I love starfish so are any compatible with them? Thanks in advance for all suggestions and comments!

Puffers (i like all of them)
    Bird Wrasse
    Lunar Wrasse
    Harlequin Tuskfish
    Triggers (any)
Tangs (I know they can be safe but i need a few tankmates)
    Colored Angler
    Yellow Canary Eel (unsure of)

The puffer & trigger won't be reef compatible. Angler & tang should be fine, though tang may nip at some corals. Wrasse are okay too, depending on the species. Eal & tusk fish are questionable.

I have been looking at anglers quite a bit lately and they are not tankmate compatible because they will eat anything and everything their size or a tiny bit bigger than they are.

Tangs, angler and eel are reef safe. The other posts all have good points about compatibility with other fishes.

There are a few triggers that are ok to put in a reef. The bluethroat, crosshatch, and others from that genus (Xanthichthys) are usually much more likely to be ok in a reef.

Im just gonna throw this out there, but i have seen many reef tanks with puffers in them. They wont harm the corals perse but anything like starfish and snails and crabs etc would be gonnas.
