Yep, you definitely need a different standpipe design. After that, if you get bubbles still, then you need a sump gurgle buster. I will post pics up of my new one for you. Here is my old one that worked pretty well, it eliminated gurgles, and big bubbles but not micro bubbles.

Try a hofer gurgle buster standpipe, or a durso standpipe. Try making one or both of these and see how they work. The durso is simple and effective. I use a durso.

Thanks for the info horkn! Those both look like really good designs. How do you like durso? Does it stay pretty quiet?

Yeah, the durso works very well. It does make a tiny amount of noise, but no more than the AGA megaflow that i had on my 90g. I bet the hofer one will be dead silent. The thing about the durso is that you can make a durso very cheaply, and quickly. The hofer takes some time to make, which is probably why I have not tried a hofer yet. Either way, you can buy the parts at any hardware store in the plumbing section. Both of those sites even have parts lists to print out.

Does anyone have any experience using the stand pipe design that are used in the marineland corner-flo tanks? Seems very similar to the durso setup.
