big green algae bloom

so what is my best option i was thinking about getting some chemiclean stuff i dont want my tank looking all purple and what not

 

Less fish, bigger clean up crew, RO/DI, more flow. What are your water parameters

 

This is important.... until you get your nutrients under control that algae is your friend... by killing the algae, you not only remove a biological filter , you add to an already taxed bio load.... step up your water changes... weekly 25% or greater water changes may be in may be in order... a 20 gallon or larger sump with macro algae and in sump skimmer may be your best alternative with your set up as currently constituted....
