Ok so im runing a QT tank right.
and i had a really small filter so i bought a bigger one. ( i had a copper based medicine going already)

and i put the filter to work, when today i realized that the filter had carbon on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:freak3: :bomb:

does this mean all the medicine just went away?

im taking the carbon now.. should i re-dose? ( i have fish that are supposed to be in treatment)

It's usually the malachite green treatments that require removing carbon during treatment.

Is it a daily dose medication? How long since you last dosed it? the carbon will take time to filter all the medication out of the water, so if its a daily dose and only been a few hours I would wait and stick to the current schedule.
Otherwise do a 30% waterchange and then start the process over from scratch ( if you do it this way leave the carbon running till your ready to restart the meds)

Thats what I would do, but I have not needed to treat anything with meds for the last 8 years ( no tanks at the time) so the methods may have been updated since then

get a copper test kit and check the copper levels in the tank. you should be doing this anyway if you are running copper in a qt tank

Gah, Daniel beat me to it. Copper test kit is a must have for a QT tank, otherwise your just guessing at how your medicating your fish. There pretty cheap too, I got an API one for around $10 at an LFS, probably even cheaper online

    Carbon adsorbs copper.
