im aware, hes already trained to eat only things i drop infront of his den, so as long as the fish doesnt sleep there, (which he doesnt) he should be fine.

good job, huge difference with the lights... i know nothing about mantis shrimp..but i know a few people that had nanos with a mantis in it and a couple fish...a few months later, there was just a mantis.. not trying to rain on your parade, but they didnt have good luck with a mantis and fish together

ive heard mantis eating fish but this is also with larger mantises and smaller fish, i think youll be fine for the most part aside from one or 2 losses maybe if that

yeah i had to wait for the camera to get fixed, i felt like i had to wait forever.
im not too worried for now, with the mantis 1" long and fish at 2.5" i was afraid of the fish getting mad and ripping a leg or something off. LOL

true thats why i got a small mantis and a "big" fish. but if i lose a fish, then thats it no fish after that probably. maybe a clown that would host one of my corals so he has no reason to get near the mantis.

thanks for the article. unfortunately no N. wennerae, but still good info.

hey guys just a little update for my tank:

my mantis molted and got bigger, probably 1 and a half times bigger, and just as scary as before. ill post a pic when he is active, because right now hes shy after a molt.

my firefish, which i named fuego (spanish for fire), swam in to my frogspawn  and freaked out, but he didnt jump. he seems to have recovered, he just spent the whole day under his rock.

i also will be purchasing some ORA Red Planet soon. i can't wait! ;D:);)

    heres some more pics,

the first is the REAL monster in my tank.

2 & 3 are some zoa shots that im trying to get to grow onto the dead SPS skeleton i found on the beach a while back.

4 is my mantis, after his molt, he still wont leave his cave long enough for a pic so this was the best i could do

5 is just a topdown shot of my montipora that got distorted by the surface disturbance.

    hope you enjoy
