i mean if thats what your worried about, you can raise it up higher from the tank. i will admit i saw some color reccesion from my montipora the first day i turned the lights on, but hes actually grown since then. i've had two new heads pop up on my paly, 7+ on one zoa colony, and 5 on another, and thats without any food.

new addition, i traded it in for my monster toadstool, but im not really sure what it is, other then a short tentacle plate coral. and i also picked up a piece of dry base reef rock, not sure where to place it though.

edit: for some reason, my camera cant pick up the intense purple striped mouth.

I have a plate as well. Mine is a kinda plain green but has a bright orange mouth. I'd like to get a long tentacle one but I read alot of mixed reviews on them as far as care level & life span.

is mine "plain" green? he hasnt fully expanded IMO compared to what i saw at the LFS. also they have on in there DT, it doesnt look too good, even though they have more demanding species like sea apples.
thats what i was saying, really 2 bulbs plus more output is worth 30$ more. just make sure its the same brand i got, other wise they run 120+

    just a heads up

Just an update for whoever wants to look.

Since the last post, I traded in my toadstool, bought Orange Rhodactis, bought a sixline wrasse, added rock, my Monti Cap got stung by aiptasia an bleached, so I kept the skeleton for structure. My mantis has molted twice and is much bigger.
