I will get a picture tonight but i couldnt resist from buying him he is about 4" long and yes i know they need a ton of swimming room my 210gal will be up in a month so no worries there. The reason i couldnt resist is the little guy actually came up and ate out of my hand and cont. to do so now that i have him in my tank. Here is a picture of his from my LFS [IMG]

[IMG] sorry about the fuzzy picture this guy is always on the move

Dont most tangs just eat seaweed? I was feeding my tank this morning and my tang was eating the mysis shrimp and other meaty frozen foods. Just thought it was a little odd lol

They eat primarily seaweed but they supplement it with mysis and other small pieces of food, I believe that the thought behind that is that in their normal habitat the would eat pods that they find in the algae. But it is not good for them if they are eating more mysis than nori... IMO

It's referred to as a Vlamingi Tang. They are extremely friendly. He does appear malnourished. I would suggest soaking your algae sheets in Vitamarin C, VitaChem, Focus and Garlic Guard on a daily basis. Insure it's not an internal worm and it's only malnourishment.

I got him at that fish place, when they had the frag swap.

Thank you, He did look a little small but had been eating like a pig and getting better everyday day. I have Green seaweed soaking in garlic and purple in Vita chem.

He is very friendly makes me laugh when he eats out of my hand.
