I'm a first time home buyer, we bought this house back in October of 2011, and today we had an emergency situation with our septic tank, 500 bucks later the problem is solved and everything's working again, but it defiantly hindered the time line I had for stocking my tank... Ahh the joys of being a home owner...

Ordered the 90 gallon clean up crew from reef cleaners, it'll ship out on Monday. Going to go fish shoppin tomorrow from a couple different places.

Quick question,? How do tangs and wrasse fish get along? Any advise or do/dont's ?

People add tangs towards the last on the stocking list. I got a sailfin way earlier than I should have, so I had to time out him for more than a moth and half due to the aggression towards another tang.

Tangs and wrasses in my case, they get along great. I think you should go hardier fish first, tho, Ive heard wrasses are more sensitive to the param swing.

Went to three different fish stores, all of which were an hour away, and none of them had anything I wanted, not even a pair of snowflakes or Picasso's, one store has a labouts wrasse, But they wanted over 160 for it and it was super small/skinny. So today was a complete waste. I did do a 15 gallon water change and rearrange my rocks today.

pink face wrasse, and white cheek tang, pics to follow.

both are eating like pigs, zero signs of aggressiion from either, tank is coverd. only bummer is that i cant have shrimp, but thats ok, they kindda creep me out anyways.

im at work now, so i cant up load the video, but if you go back to pg.2 of this forum, and get to my youtube channel via that first video, youll be able to see it.

took these pics ninja style with my iphone, so the quality isnt that great, and the wrasse is still very timid, and hides 90% of the time in and out of the rocks, hes a very fast little bugger. the tang on the other hand is all over the place, lovin life :)

The two fish are doing great, they get fed 3 times a day, prime reef flakes for breakfast at 9am, brine shrimp at 2pm, and frozen formula one/two at 7pm. With a sheet of green marine algae for grazing.

I still think I’m over feeding, even though it’s a tiny pinch of flakes, a 1/3rd packet of brine shrimp, and a 1/4 each of formula one and two, and my seaweed sheet is 2"x7" because I have a pretty bad brown hair algae problem.

the fish show no signs of aggression, and I don’t want to cut back on feeding and risk promoting a fight, so tonight I’m looking for a program for the Radions that remove the red light, (read somewhere that that could be a culprit) and to shorten up my light cycle. Right now the lights come on at 5am at 5% intensity, working its way in even increments to 100% by 10 am, and the start working their way back down at 6pm, and shut off at 9pm. in addition to changing my lighting, I ordered a duel media reactor, and scottwoods got one too, and he bought the HC GFO, and ROX 0.8, we're gonna share it and when it runs out ill buy the next batch, (benefits of having a buddy in the hobby) so that should be up and running by the weekend.

I also increased my water change to 15% weekly insted of 10% every other week, just until the algae is resolved, then ill go back to every other week, still at 15%. thanks for reading.

..I'm thinking that's a bunch of food..all your params look good?..phos and nitrate....I dont know, but I was a heavy feeder at first..and I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that they don't have the metabolism as us warm blooded creatures...a bunch of my troubles left me when I pulled back the "feed bag" lol : ) jmo. I love the tang...my most favorite. ;)
