You need to readjust your MP40 both of mine are silent. if its vibrating it needs to be realigned turn it to green and full then line it up make it close to silent as possible.

    I have a MP40 and MP60 on my 75gal tank

good glad its getting better, on your returns it sounds like something is blocking water that is returning.

Can you pinpoint the source of the noise? Is it from the outlet of the return in the display tank or more from the return pump itself in the sump? Could it be due to the plumbing design?

If you could post some piping pics, we might be able to tell from the pic?

Well, heres my input. I would just try and kink out that sag in the drain tube, a 90 PVC miight be louder with having the water fall a good distance and just stop.

As for the durso, i have 0 experience with so ill bump for you.

the tube doesnt have very much give in it, its 1 1/4 tygon braded tubing, even when its empty, not attached to anything, you have to man-grip beast mode to straighten it out. what if i did two 45d insted of 2 90s? idk if i have the space for that ill have to check

That little hole is used to break the siphon during a power outage...but if ur return line is high enough (and you have enough room for backflow into ur sump) it is not needed and will drive u crazy..i put new heads on my return just to get rid of that little hole....and to stop the gurgling u need to add a ball valve to control flow on the drain
