The only way it's not an issue is when it's moving like 30 gph through it, and not 1390

the drain is designed to handle only so much flow. If you want more flow you need to mod the drain pipe by drilling extra holes in the top of it (do research on this!! before doing it). Or go with a different drain set up.

its not the drain that i have an issue with, i know i can fix the gargling noise with a gate valve or ball vavle, so thats not my concern anymore

the issue now is pluging the hole in the 90 degree elbow at the top of the return, and/or baffle teh noise it creates by jet streaming water everwhere

Then get a new elbow or plug it up with epoxy. But make sure your out flows are at water level. And check to make sure your sump doesnt overflow.

Ok now that the plumbing issue is resolved, thank god, I added the sand today, it's about 2.5 inches, that was at about 4:30pm. So we 'll see how lOng that takes to settle, should I be running my power heads and sump while I wait for it to settle? Everything is off right now

I would fire everything up and let your mechanical filtration take out the dust.If you wait till later when you power things up it will just start a dust storm and cause more waiting.
