    Frag tank

Thanks man, I do have a frag tank but it's hooked into my main tank right now. Long story short i have a fish room and display wall but this tank was set up in the bedroom because my large 300gal system was set up in that spot. It was Sold and I'm waiting on a custom stand and then will move this tank back into the proper place and set up a separate frag system in the fish room. Looks like timing was key in all this happening at all, If i had not put the fans on temporary like i did we would not be having this talk.
I agree with having frags of everything, This tank is the frags of everything i sold in my 185, It's only been up about 6 months so they were not that big yet.

Funny you say that. while a frag tank is nice, 95% of them are connected into the main system like Bill's. the best way to protect corals is to frag and sell them to others in your area. I have corals from my old tank strewn thruough the region. Bill bought and was gifted several species out of my tank. some were the only ones in our area, some more popular. he was sorta "holding" them for me until my system was stable enough for them. I had a setback a month ago, and I am a week away from adding them! hopefully they make it (stylopora) and I can get them growing again. Sad part is i have no clue as to what other species he had in there for me. hope they all make it. did you get all the ones Zach bought from me? I think it was the bali Tricolor (actually a Gflatt frag)? that big hot pink knobby pocililpora (only one in the area)?

Bill, FWIW, we sell a small rat trap style blower that runs on 110v for use with our wood stoves. it comes with a rheostat and is rated at 150cfm. it is super quiet and does a heck of a job at cooling my halides. I have to kill it at night otherwise it causes too much tank cooling and kicks the heaters on. anyways, it works great on my tank and is SUPER quiet. Ill see if I can get one off a returned stove and bring it to you next time.

    They were all here

I was baby sitting all of Zach's coral, So Yes they were all here. Good news is the ones you ask about look like they will be fine, But they do not belong to me so as far as fraging them is not up to me. All i have for you is a couple of sm stylo/Pocci pieces, Actually i only got a piece of stylo from you the rest went to Zach.
They were in the frag tank, Far from the wire the most damage is in the main tank where the wire fell in. You would think it would not matter where but it did!

NO worries.. I cannot remember who got what when I was getting it all torn down. Ill get up there and hopefully get them the evening of the 21st or so. I come back from CHicago that night. or maybe meet you in Lewisburg someplace.

Pains me to hear about your tank. that crazy that even with that probe, they were zapped. Let me know if you need anything from me to help out.

    Lewisburg?

Lewisburg is an hour drive from my house, I live in Spring Hill on the North side of town actually was Thompson Station when I bought but we were annexed to SH.
Thanks for the offer but nothing but time will tell what lives and what does not.
I must say that many people have offered to start me over with frags and I am overwhelmed with their generosity.
The pieces I have for you i think will be fine and If i can I'll send them with someone going to the club meeting if possible.
I'll keep you informed about the statis of everything on this site, As the other is just to dang many people want to argue!
    Thanks again
    Bill

Bill, its an hour drive for me as well so it is halfway. hopefully they will get a meeting place and I will be able to go. Sunday's are out for me starting this weekend b/c of soccer games with my oldest son.

why do you think I moved here with my build thread and spend the time I do here. There are too many folks there that feel their way is the only way to do things. sad part is there are several methods for successful reef keeping. there is alot of high pedistals and other things there that I just cannot stand. I am unconventional in some things. with my 180, I am trying some new things. going to try the CA reactor as soon as i can find a replacement pump or parts for my aquamedic. it has one stripped gear in it so I just need a blown motor or junk pump to fix it.

I really appreciate you holding those frags for me. Hard to say thanks for that. I dont have any more money to put in the tank now as my wife is not working. I may try to do the Ca reactor on the remainder of the sand that you gave me to start off with then switch over to that media later on. but I dont have an ALK test kit, so I gotta get that in place first.

    Alk Test kit

Wow i just saw that Hanna Alk checker, Pretty neat but like you no more Cash right now.
I sent you some good info on the reactor on the other site but i can really help you best by showing you in person, It's kinda weird to get dialed in at first because it will force water into your Co2 line if the pressure is too high.
I may have an extra KH test kit laying around with a few test left, I'll look and LYK.
It seems no matter what i say over there i get someone pissed at me, So i will just give up over there and stop posting anymore.

Zach.. yea, sometimes it is all a happy fam, sometimes it is like the inlaws!

Bill, I got your Msg. thanks. ill see what I can do to get it all online. I need to get that remaining sand out of the bucket and washed and dried so I can use it. Maybe tonight ill go sit in the driveway and get it washed. is it a steady stream out or closer to a drip? I know on my Denitrator Coil, i use a steady drip, just below a solid stream.

    Hello Brotha

I'm just tired of being ragged on for anything i say that someone disagrees with. People can disagree on things but we all have the right to say what we think without the personal attacks on your character.
Sheeple, That's what i see from most people today that can't see anyone else's point of view without going off on you! And Please I'm not trying to argue with anyone just making a point!
