hi all, finally going to get some water in my tank and was wondering if i should start the tank up with no balls in the wetdry or leave them in, i also have a 15 gallon fuge on the setup(diy) and the wetdry is a aqua pro 125, the tank is a 72 bow, my return pump is a rio 2100, the tank will have dry sand and base rock to start with, what would you guys do?

I would forgo them personally unless I had a fish only tank with some serious piscinivores or something....dirty fish if you will that produce a lot of waste.

    Good luck

I've used them to kickstart cycles then pulled them and replaced with rubble but I typically don't use wet/dry setups so I'm not expert on the matter.

I don't use them. Even with pre-filters, junk gets in your sump. If the water also goes through bio-balls, it is just another place for it to get trapped, and rot.

Can you use base rock rubble or should it be live rock rubble
