I'm in the same problem too, take them out slowly is all I can say after reading on this for the last two days. If you don't do it slowly it will spike the ammonia and nitrite possibly(more like probably imo). I have plenty of time and plan on this taking me at least a month to get rid of them. Check out the media baskets from InTank at mediabaskets.com, they look like a good route to go from all of what I've been reading. You can get them fairly cheap IMO and see vids of them and how they fit into the biocube, they link to youtube to show the videos(pretty awesome). You have two choices, media basket and skimmer set up or media basket and fuge no skimmmer option. The idea looks great but haven't heard any responses to how good they work, my guess would be great. I like the fact that you do not have to modify the biocube at all, no drilling, pumping etc. Good luck.

I think a fuge would be fine on a 29g biocube. But because the compartments are so small, there isn't much for a fuge. If you do a fuge, that's fine. But it will be a chaeto-filled compartment, basically. No room for a DSB.
