    You can turn them off it looks like the food is being carried away by the water flow, turing them off is not necessary otherwise. But I have my Korilla pumps set to turn off at night (but comes on intermittently a few times). most people call this "night mode" current or something..8)

    Thanks - I have not shut my power heads off at night - is this widely practiced?

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I do turn mine off to feed my LPS. I do set a timer for 20 min to turn it back on as well.
