bio magnetic clarifier (comes with carib sea LS)

    I got some live sand & it is carib sea (argonite) heard was good.well it came with a pkg of bio magnetic bacteria re-locator/clarifier.. well it says add to new tank.... mix in jug of aquarium water first & put in slow.... so this maybe a stupid/dumb question but i need to ask neways....

    My question is
    Do i use it now? Like within 24hrs of inital setup...while im waiting for water to clear up..(It is cloudy from starting over... addng my saltwater to tank & disturbing the sand... & maybe some undissolved salt)
    Or do i use it when my water clears up to help stay clear for cycle process...
    next question...
    If my salinity is ok but my tank is cloudy (previously stated above why) doi or can i start cycle process with table shrimp? i dont think i can but i dont know & somone @ LFS said "oh yeah start that sh** quick"

    Hi Saltydogg

    the bio magnetic clarifier basically causes small particulates suspended in the water to floculate ( stick to each other) making them heavier than the water and thus fall out of suspension, or get collected in filters etc

    it is not strictly needed, as the aquarium would eventually clear by itself anyway
    those small particles do eventually settle out


    you can throw in the shrimp now also, once the salt has dissolved properly
