    Properly maintained they are fine, but with enough live rock not needed. If you did anything like that go with a refugium and put chaeto in it to remove excess nitrate and phosphate.

    Biowheels are considered nitrate factories because there is no place for anaerobic reduction of nitrate to nitrogen.

    Thanks man, K+ again! Thats exactlly what I was looking for ....I couldnt remember the cause of nitrates.

    The back of my tank is maxed with my current hob equipment. (No room for a sump). I would replace my current forms of filtration with the wet/dry system. Its my ticket to a fuge, and the bonus of a bak pak. Unless Im missing a drawback.
