need help ever since i added my biopellet reactor i have lost 4 fish. Hair algea everywhere.... cycno.... did i cause this adding the reactor or could my water be bad... I was thinking maybe my RO DI needed new filters.... I just ordered some today and a TDS meter. Is there a reason why the bio pellets could of caused this and should i turn it off.

I'm so sorry to hear that I don't think it's the bio pellets you need to check your filtration system the membrane on your RO system could have slipped while letting tapwater get through once that happens phosphates will enter your system and all hell will break loose change your filters ASAP can make a big water change see if that helps good luck Phil

Yes it could. Are you running the water from the reactor directly into the skimmer? We've been doing a lot of researching (since my boyfriend just ordered one), and that is what is recommended to not have the algae issues. Also, did you start with 1/4 the recommended amount of pellets?

yes, i started with a quarter of the amount. Also, be careful if using a nano tank!

You fish most likely asphyxiated as the bacterial created from the biopellets used up the O2. Don't feel so bad, it happened to the biodome project too. Well... not media reactors, but unforeseen bacteria using up the oxygen.

point a powerhead to the surface and or add an air stone? also you could test your RO water to see if it is still being filtered correctly.
