so i have been reading about bio pellets until my eyes have gone crossed, and after all of that i still cant decide if i want them. some swear by them some just swear at them and since this is the only site that i am a member i want would like to hear some real time reviews from the tanks i have been reading about so long.
    thanks.

They worked great for me for a while. It is a must to have a quality reactor to run them. Tips I could give is go slowly with them. Maintain a stable Alk level, around 8-9 dKh. They took me only so far, and I found that liquid carbon dosing (i.e. Vodka or vinegar) worked much better at diminishing nutrient levels. Vodka is a cheaper, more effective method to reduce nutrients...however, it is much more maintenance heavy due to daily or multi-daily dosing.

they work for me but to what exact end i cannot tell. they are only as effective as the skimmer you are using. since the main nutrient export is still provided by your skimmer a higher quality will yield better results which would be the same without the pellets. i have noticed a decrease in overall nutrients(been using for 1 full year as of last week) but if the same result could have been obtained by regular water changes and a better skimmer i cannot tell.
