O.k. I thought I would give everyone an update on the lighting make-over I have done on the 14 gal. Biocube. I first replaced the one stock compact 50/50 bulb with a Ecoxotic LED Module, I left the other stock 50/50 in there. Well, I have since (as of today) gutted the entire inside of the canopy and re-installed the Module plus added one Ecoxotic LED Stunner Strip. The tank looks great! The lighting now looks real simular to the Module/Bulb combo as far as brightness and crisp color. There is no real heat issue though, which I like, and you get the Halide shimmer. I truly am glad I re-did the lighting. Total cost was about $190. getting say 40,000 hours from the LEDs (at my burn rate = over 10 years) that is $19 a year! You save a lot of money on bulbs.

We just set up a 14 gal Oceanic cube too. Is that the same one you've modded?
