Does anyone know if it is possible to just buy the hi output lighting canopy for the Biocube? Or do we have to get a whole new tank? If it is possible do you know where online we could find it? If it isn't possible does anyone know what a good upgrade would be for it? We got the standard Biocube right now.

    Thanks for the help!

I built a custom LED lighting set up that fits inside the splash shield in my Biocube 29. No more light issues (even melted a couple acan frags with it :( ). Whole project cost less than $200 and I have more LEDs than I actually need.

I too modded mine with LEDs. I'm not sure where you'd be able to buy just the top. If its a 14, I'd sell you mine. Send a PM if interested.

Edit: I'm talking about the biocube stock hood

    Hey Jimmy -

That sounds pretty cool - do you have pictures? Would like to see that..

And it's a 29g.. We just want to upgrade the lighting in it - we have alot of corals and now a maxima clam in there - though it's doing good we are getting a little worried about the light...

    Thanks for your help.

    Clicky for Thread

That thread has some of the information. If you're more interested, I can provide specifics... perhaps even a detailed "how to" thread. I would've done that before, but not much interest was expressed.
