    Hey everyone, I am looking for ideas for lighting my 14 gal. Biocube. Another ballast has gone out and the range for a new one is $50-80. I don't want to spend an arm and a leg since I have all soft coral in there and there is no need for a clip on halide. I am willing to remove the top and have a piece of glass cut for the top. Thanks in advance.

    I have been looking at LEDs. I have the Power bright strips and have one in there temporarily. What I don't like is that the LED lights are so concentrated you get blotches of Blue an White and it doesn't look natural. I don't know if the ones you mention would do the same thing.

    That was the other option I was thinking of.

    Thanks to all those who tried to help. After seeing this one in person I installed one in the bio and left the one working PC in there also. WOW, what a great effect!

    Sounds good.

    I want to see how these look, could you post pics with the PC only, then LED only, then PC and LED?

    Here are the PCs (stock);

    Granted, in the second pic you don't see the shimmer (glitter effect) but it is bright and glitters nice.

    Looks nice:)

    You can see a little MOAR coloration on that toadstool even in the second pic that is not there with PC's only.
