I have a 29 gallon oceanic. It has the day and night lights as well as another that stays on all the time. Inside the tank i have live rock..a few hermits, a clown, a cleaner shrimp, a few snails and a bubble tipped anenome who wants to wander all night. My question is, at night should I be turning both lights off or leaving the night light on? I am always conflicted about this.

    Thanks,

    Jarred

Your call. Some believe the moon lights create a more natural cycle for the inhabitants and some say it does no good.

I think he might be referring to the lights that stay on all the time as the led moonlights. And the daylight as the 10k bulb and the night as actinic. Atleast thats the way it sounded to me? I wouldnt leave the actinic on all the time. I would turn the actinic on about an hour before the day light and off about an hour after the day light cycle is over. Its not necessary but I like the dusk/dawn effect it creates.

I agree, only moonlights/LEDs on all the time.

Your nem might be on the move looking for more light...
