ya the carbon should be ok. it is un used right?

the seachem biofiltration media comes in 1 litre jugs so i put 2 of those in.Total of 2 litres, i guess that is 2000 grams of rock. or 2 kg i dunno

just enough so you have room for carbon and polyfilter. try not to force or stuff everything cuz the water needs to drip through all the filters

 

yeah they are un used and nothings crammed in there it seems to be working good

im not shure if im going to do the rubble rock.....right now i just have the bioballs in there. if i do end up doing the rubble rock hopefully i can get that this weeekend

 

how long have you had the system running?

it takes time for bacteria to build on the bioballs or rubble so if you already have it running with bioballs then i would add the rubble slowly so that we arent throwing out too much good bateria from the bioballs. the idea is to not disturb the system so taking a few bioballs out to make room for some rubble is probably the safest. and you can add week by week or month whatever. BIOBALLS ARENT BAD lots of people use them.

 

Couldnt agree more, alot of people use them in their wet/dry systems and have no issues

 

its only been running for about a week now and water is crystal clear !!!!!!1

im thinking of maybe just keeping bioblls since money is tight
