Hi, I wanted to know what your opinions on the
biocube. I want to upgrade my ten gallon nano reef tank,
and thought of upgrading to a 29 gallon biocube since
    we're short space.

personally i think you would end up with a better tank if you were buy a regular tank and add the extras to it yourself. but good luck on upgrading ive seen good looking square tanks around that size at my lfs i think would make a good tank

i had a 29 gallon bio cube, filtration isnt the best but if u are creative u can get it to work. Heres what mine looked like:

I've lost 1 ballast, 1 Fan, and 1 LED since install in Feb. I did get the Ballast replaced but getting a hold of Oceanic was a pain in the butt. Took over 3 months.

I would spend a little more and get a better system

The all-in-one systems are really slick looking, but they don't come with the best stuff. The makers, such as oceanic and red sea, are trying to pack as much stuff into a system as they can while keeping the price down, so you aren't going to get the best skimmer or filtration possible, but you can mod it yourself. Having to replace all of the filtration stuff, though, is a larger expense than you would have to pay if you were to just get a regular tank and buy everything else separate. I have a red sea max myself, but plan on modding it as I can afford it, for better filtration and overall water quality. I really do like how my system looks though, it's just harder on the wallet ><

The smaller Biocubes aren't UL listed Underwriters Laboratories Inc. so I would assume the 29 gallon isn't either. Out of all of the brands of these types of nano's, the one I like least is the Biocube. Jason is correct.....Oceanic has ALWAYS been a pain to deal with. Now that Aqueon owns both Oceanic and All Glass Aquariums, it's even worse. Detritus can get caught under the plastic grids in the back and because the grids aren't removable, you can't siphon it out.

go with a JBJ nano, same money much better tank imo
can look at the 24dx and the 28hqi both, the dx is about 1/2 the price of the hqi but it has 72w of PC's instead of the HQI/PC hood
