    Update!!

Bad news! My mini maxi decided to move and even more polyps are dead. Funny thing, the spot where the mini maxi was, there's this weird white slime. Is this normal?

I can't quite make out what you describe in the photo, but that sounds an awful lot like a bacterial bloom/film.

I'm a bit perplexed on this one right now...

The maxi was in the same spot for over a year, I'm assuming it's a film from the carpet. It must have moved because it was getting stung from the dying coral.

Or the dying coral was releasing something it didn't like.

    Very true!!

So tonight I am going to put carbon (3tbsp) and Phosban (1tbps) in my reactor and try to get what ever is in my water out and try to lower my phosphates a little.

This morning my water was a tad cloudy from all the coral drying.

It is amazing how fast a tank can go south.

You haven't tried doing a large water change?

sorry to hear about the maxi problems, the white slime could have been many things, im thinking leftover mucus from the anemone. maxis tend to leave more of that behind than an average nem. have you tried putting the maxis on the sandbed? the way i always kept nems from reaching corals is i had a single rock on the sandbed and placed them by it and they would attach, they dont like to travel across sand so they usually stay on the rock.

Thanks! I really hope the Mini Maxi goes onto a small rock so I can get it out of my tank and find it a new home.

So I went out and purchased a new Ammonia test kit from API for giggles.

First test showed I had a VERY small amount of Ammonia.. BUT then I forgot to NEVER go by the small line on the API test kit vial. I re-ran my test and I am Ammonia free.

I plan to do a small water change around noon and turn my reactor online with carbon and a very SMALL amount of PhosBan.
