I should have a few FTS soon, I have been working a lot more lately because of a recent product launch.

But I have been having problems with flow in my tank, it has been like a cyclone effect in my tank. I have been trying to get it more randomized by adding more power heads to my tank. I think what I might do is upgrade my MP10 to wireless and have it talk to my Apex. This way I can have it cycle though multiple modes to create a more randomized flow pattern in my tank.

    Updated test results:

    Ph: 8.33
    SG: 1.026
    Alk: 8.4
    Cal: 540
Mag: 1250 (Finally dropped!!! Has been over 1600 for months, started slowly dosing BRS Mag to reach 1450ppm)
Phosphates: .08ppm ( Per Hanna Checker, unit is defective so could be lower )

I also changed my powerhead around, I now have a counter flow to my MP10 in reef crest mode. I have seen better polyp extension in my new corals from Happy Coral, I am really looking forward to adding a Red Planet down the road.

So lately my MP10 has been really upsetting me, it seems to fail every 5-7 days. Last night at 2am I woke up to a loud grinding/whining sound. So I called EcoTech and was told to ship mine in and they will ship one back in a week total turn around time. I felt this was a little unacceptable seeing how this will be my third Wet Side replacement in 8 months. I called back and asked if they could ship me one and I would ship back the broken unit. They agreed to ship me one at no charge, thank you EcoTech for making an exception.

It is really odd that yours would fail so often and after going through 3 wetsides i would wonder if its something else. But with the way the vortech are that highly unlikely. Are you using the spacer?

At least they are working with you so you arent down on flow for too long.

I have no idea why I have bad luck with them but I am using the spacer.

I hope this will be my last. :)

Very strange. I have 3 mp10s and 2 60s and have never had to replace anything or had anything grind. Hopefully they'll get you doctored up quickly!

I hope so too, idk why but this should fix it. I added a wireless adapter, I can'wsit to finally have even more control of my mp10.

Now that I think of it, this will be my 4th wet side replacement in 8 months! :-/

I somehow got charged for shipping so I am planning to call them in the AM to get that resolved. I am honestly starting to not like my MP10 at the moment and thinking about other options for down the road. :( If I didn't have my warranty I would be looking at an extra $186.00 to keep my $235.00 unit running for only 8 months.

    Wet Sides:
    Original (Came with unit)
    Replacement (DOA)
    Replacement (DOA)
    Replacement (Today)

yeah, something is not right here. they are a great company and have great products. I would ask for a entire new unit. Maybe the dry side is messed up which is in turn messing up the wetside. It seems highly unlikely but idk.

I was thinking about asking for a complete replacement tomorrow when I call, but only if they are willing to reset the warranty. Lastly I am going to ask if/when they replace my entire unit if they could replace it with the wireless version for all the hassle of shipping unit back and fourth.

Please let me know if anything thinks I would be out of line by asking for this.
