I wonder if using any salt mix as baseline for test calibration is a good idea. From reading forums it seems all salts tend to be all over the place from batch to batch.

Very true, but it will give me an idea if the kit is at least working. I'm by no means using the Saltmix as calibration.

I wanted to get your opinions, I typically have a pipe going down under water releasing water from my overflow. I want to try something new, I want to get rid of of this pipe and just have my water gently flow into my sump.

    What are your thoughts?

Also I added a "collar" to the 1" pipe to stop any drips.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !

    That looks fantastic Chris,

Those birdnest are growing like weeds. Even I can tell the sps on the other side have noticeably grown as well.

I read the post about removing the pipe and I am still confused. I fail at plumbing.:-X

Not sure what you're getting at???

It looks like it is gently flowing into the sump.

Wouldn't you break your siphon if the pipe didn't execute below water? (iirc that your system is working on a siphon)

Thanks, you're right! Those birdnests are kicking butt. I'll be fragging some next week hopefully.

Thanks again for the kind words.

The only downfall I see with this is that if for some reason your main pump gets on steroids that the water is going to get past the sock. Maybe add a 90 to it for safe measure.

It is, I just want to make sure it's okay. Personally I like the gentle flow into my sump.
