I have even seen that in the cold water surf in Oregon, I didn't know about bioluminescent waves then, but I knew the waves looked like they were glowing. I guess that's very common, and if you start at the ocean at night enough your certain to see it once at least.

BERMUDA FIREWORMS: (Odontosyllis enopla) Can be observed spawning 2-5 days after the full moon, 57 minutes after sunset, with a peak on the third night following the full moon during summer months. (Sterrer 1986, Wilkens and Wolken 1981, Markert et al. 1961). Females rise to the surface from the bottom and swim in circles while releasing a bright green bioluminescent substance along the length of the body (Markert et al 1961, Huntsman 1948 ) Wolken and Florida (1984)

bristle worms are also being reported to glow during reproduction. (hearsay)
Many miniture sea stars are said to glow (hearsay)

And I have now read muliple reports of unidentified bioluminescent worms from Caribbean live rock appearing 6 to 18 months after introduction to the aquarium.

I would pay a pretty penny for some live rock collected at the bioluminescent bay or Caribbean guaranteed to contain bioluminescent life. TOP DOLLAR!
Even manmade rock (Aragocrete). Seeded with biolumenscent life.
I wish the livestock suppliers would take stock in bioluminescence.

Nudibranch bioluminescence "all" (Plocamopherus) varieties and some others...

Little is known about the method of bioluminescence, however it is believed that all plocamopherus nudibranches are bioluminescent.

Been watching this thread, and I have to say, I'm curious as to which creatures that bioluminesce are most commonly available? I've heard of pineapple fish/flashlight fish being available on a rare occasion, what else?

well. if you look @ the first page i give a loooong short list. almost all marine life, 80-90 % of deep sea life is suspected to be bioluminescent.

Many people have checked out this thread, does anyone have species suspected of bioluminescence? I don't mind surfing for answers so suggestions please.
