I was looking into my tank last night with my flashlight which has a blue lense on it. I saw two tentacles sticking out of a crevace in one of my live rocks. A big snail brushed up against the tentacles and then the tentacles began flashing a bioluminescent neon blue/green light. The light flashes were very quick and bright. The tentacles appeared to be segmented all the way to their tips and every other segment illuminated in a series of quick flashes. After the light show, the snail turned around and took off. What could this thing be? Has anyone else seen these in their tanks? It was pretty awesome to see something like this in my reef tank.

There are small bio-luminescent brittle stars, could it have been a leg of one of them?

I quess it could be a brittle star but I havn't seen anything but the two tentacles sticking out of the crack in the rock.
