    Hi there,

I bought this Emperor 280 Biowheel filter about a month ago. Worked like a charm, without any bubbles...even the first day! Now all of a sudden, its making a ton of microbubbles....I tried cleaning it, but as you may know, 1 month of a filter isn't much of a cleaning.

Anyone know what could be wrong?

    Thanks

Is the water level of the tank lower than the lip of the overflow from the filter? If it isn't, you need to top off the water in the tank.

You may also want to look inside with a flashlight while it's operating, and see where they're coming from.

It's actually just right, I'm thinking it might be the biowheel, maybe it needs cleaning?

The BioWheel shouldn't ever need cleaning. I had two of the smaller (penguin) biowheel filters, each with 2 wheels (I think they were 350's), and ran it without cleaning anything other than the bearings (which would clog and keep it from turning) for more than 4 years.

Did you look into the filter while it's running with a flashlight? I would suspect it's the impeller, but that needs to be confirmed.
