I have just noticed mine was whitening when I upgraded my lights, I have moved it lower and raised the lights a bit. As yours was, it was only where it was receiving direct light.

i have seen a huge birds nest colony bleach completely due to a temp spike. When this I moved it down to the bottom of the tank. After 3 weeks all color was completely restored. So I think Im prolly the 5th person that will recommend lowering it in the tank.

If the bleached portion of the birds nest is only at the tip region. Just cut off the tips. (if the base is bleached dont do this) Wont do it any harm. Might do some good justice because when it grows back... It will branch into multiple directions. Plus birds nest grow FAST.

thanks. makes me feel a bit more hopeful. I think it has slowed down the whitening... hard to tell at the moment really.

I will keep an eye on it and if it does well, er, better, I will leave it be for several months if needed.

The flow is pretty low where I have it. I would say low/medium.

Got my PC basically up and running and protected. No apps installed yet, but I can start catching up on my pics. So here goes.

But it's not out of the woods yet. Fingers crossed.
