Bizarre Jelly Like Growth

    Forgive the picture quality as I just can't get it to focus through the glass properly even on manual. These red things look like roses made out of jelly fish material. I've never seen anything quite like them before. At first, I thought it was just a touch of red slime, but as they got bigger I could tell if obviously wasn't that.

    Any thoughts?

    Do they look porous? Any valves/siphons/osculums? Could be just a type of sponge.

    Not that I can see. You may be right. The meat of them is a transparent pink with a sort of grainy looking surface texture. The outermost part of each appendage is a dark red. I've never seen anything like it.

    I see it now. No...looks nothing like that. Picture a silk flower only puffy. that's what they look like.
