    need to get another vortech mp20 to get the flow in the tank going again. i fear too little flow is going to give me a helluva algae outbreak. so far not too bad though.

    I don't know how I missed this thread! Your rockwork looks great!! And wow, your emerald crab is huuuge!! He's pretty cool. Can't wait to see more pics!! Seems like your cycle is finishing up...

    heh yeah i dont know what to name the emerald crab yet. im thinking mr pinchy or ninja-chomper because last night i saw him get to the top of the rockscape, he saw some food on the sand, he JUMPED from the rock and drifted through the water to the sand floor and attacked the food.

    pulled out the filtersock last night when i thought i had a nitrate problem. plus the bag was dark brown after 4 weeks of being in there for the cycle. i dont think im gonna run a sock anymore unless i need to run carbon without a carbon reactor till i get one. seems like a huge nitrate factory and a detriment to copepods.

    doing my first water change today now that my initial cycle is over per the test-kit (hope its not expired ive had this test kit for quite awhile im gonna go look for exp date).

    lol i have some quick-test strips from my freshwater stuff i could use temporarily to get atleast a ballpark figure if its the same as the reagent based testers...

    ah damn you test strips! *shakes fist*
