black argonite blotches

    I have some black blotches on the bottom of my tank... I am assuming its somthing dying and in the lack of oxygen...is it bad? i just set up my tank.

    Yes there is some anaerobic activity going on there for sure , Is it Deep sand bed or have you been feeding lots of meat ? god water flows ? How long has it been running ?

    There is lots of flow... i think i have a K2, a vortech at full, and a mag 12 return @ about 50%. the tank is brand new too argonite bed is 2 inches.

    so i decided it is hydrogen sulphide....

    something is rotting on the bottom of the tank... I can only see it when i look underneath through the glass. Does any one else have this problem?
