Black/Clear Bubble

    I first noticed this thing a week ago. It has been growing every day. It is a black/clear looking bubble. What is this?

    Looks like bubble algae.

    that looks like the "bubble Algae" need a better photo....but I've seen it way worse...so if it is..start treatment..it can be a drag.

    I have been getting all kinds of fun crap in this tank.

    Yep, bubble algae. After doing some reading I figured instead of getting an emerald crab which is just going to cut it open anyhow that I would try and remove it with a syringe. That didn't take as the shell was very hard. You need a needle syringe for it. Probably not recommended as popping it causes the spores to go everywhere but the surface was so hard I figured I would chance it and was able to pick it off the rock with my finger nail. This caused the rubber feeling sucker to fly right off. Now I have pretty good turbulance throughout my tank and it was a major PIA to catch it. I caught it, it did not pop fortunately and attached is a photo.

    The lesson, get my protein skimmer going in operation and get more phosguard.
