I run carbon 24/7 in my system, helps filter the water good.

I also run it 24/7. Not only for the filtering and awesomely clear water, but its good to have just for situations like this.
Keep an eye on it. Like gras said, make sure it doesn't slime. If it slimes, get it out. Don't get into the mode where you think you can save it even if its slimy; its not worth the risks.
Best of luck! Keep us updated

I've been wanting to run carbon however haven't researched the best way to do it. Just put it in a filter sock and put it my sump? Will that be effective for now until I can do it "right" however that is?

Ummmmm dude, I would think seriously about removing it to a QT for the time being. I have a sea apple and if anything like that happened to it, I would have it out of the tank and in a private cell in a heartbeat. Same with my anenome. You're lucky you haven't lost your tank already IMO.

Well it's morning and everything is fine.

Lfs guy said when I asked about the black cuke v.s. sea apple that they aren't poisonous like the sea apple is. He said if it dies in the tank it's not good but not a tank disaster, if it gets ground up in a powerhead then thats when you have a problem. Sea apples on the other hand get injured or too stressed or just die randomly they will wipe out the whole tank.

At least everything is ok so far this morning. :)
