plasmas most of the time provide better quality for night time video, while lcds are better for daytime viewing or perhaps viewing in a room with reef lighting. like you said plasma has glare problems. most of the differences between the two are getting smaller and smaller every year.

for a home theater set up i would go for a plasma but for just a regular multipurpose tv lcd would probably have the advantage.

A few weeks ago hubby and I were at the PX at Ft Gordon and I got our grand daughter one of those new fisher price digital cameras. keep in mind she'll be 5 in jan. you can kick this thing, drop it in the toilet and step on it and it will still take a pic! (not that I've tried any of those things) plus I'm making her a quilt.

I have given up on the camera idea for my kids. They just got too thrashed. What you have sounds like a winner. I am still up in the air as to what my main gifts for them are going to be. The Wii is a family gift. I am thinking a good quality scooter (skateboard park type) for him and a good quality boom box for her. I don't know. Remember the days when you could give them a piece of plastic you found on the ground and they would be happy?

The only place I went was the LFS - a thermometer, Mag-Float, and a long pair of stainless steel tongs. Oh, and I ordered some critters from John at reefcleaners.org!

Sounds like a great DIY project!

We didn't buy anything, but we soon will. I seriously detest crowds.
