A very nice speciman indeed, congrats. I support your wrasse only decision :)

The canary will likely still hunt around, even with increased feedings.

Your right, but hopefully the fuller its belly, the less it needs to do so

will do, I dont want to tempt fate, but it did take a pellet that fell on the rock it was perusing yesterday.

Thanks Evolved, Christmas, flasher or Radient next ?
Im going to put 5 Wrasse into this set up (60 x 20 x 20)

    thank you fhabercrombie

its early days, but 1 thing I have noticed is
the Canary wrasse was a very much open water hunter from the day I got it
the Leapord wrasse stays very close to the rockwork at all times so far, rarely coming into open water

this gives me a few ideas on feeding ( rock smeared with frozen shrimp, or baster to put stuff in crevices in rockwork etc )
getting the alternative foods to the correct location for it, hopefully will be the key to keeping it long term.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Beautiful fish. The wrasses theme sounds good, it will be an active and colorful tank, with unusual fish. Good choice!

So are these the first fish for this tank or did I miss something?

they are indeed the 1st fish

tank set up and then waited 7 weeks and added the Canary ( CUC , some snails in at week 6)
and then 2 weeks later added the Leapord

so the week after next - I will be Wrasse hunting again

I love the all wrasse theme Steve. The leopard is one of those I can dream of, but will most likely never get.

Are the Christmas, Flasher, & Radiant all definite additions, or are you still looking at different species?

    Thanks jonjon

the Radient is a definite on my wish list, had one previously, no feeding issues, no territorial issues (except with me, when I sat at the front of the tank to long without putting food in)
the flashers and Christmas - Im looking for Reds and greens really
so I get a range of colours in my selection

    appreciated jonjon

Ill get some images and print before visiting the LFS
That way I can ensure I dont come home with a wrasse from the non reef safe category that would outgrow my tank
