Black Saddleback sex question

At what point or size do they become a female. I bought 2 that were in the same tank at the LFS with no fighting but they were the same size. About
1 1/2 - 2 inches each. They have now started to fight in my tank and was curious if they have already at that size may both be females. If they are both females is one of them doomed or is it that they both may still be males? Any thoughts on this anyone?

 

If they were kept in a large group, they should be unsexed (neither male nor female). Only when paired do they become male/female. Think of it like this: If you had 6 clowns, it wouldn't equate to 1 female, 5 males once everything settled. It would be 1 female, 1 male, 4 unsexed. Also, clowns can switch continously between male and unsexed, but once female, they are stuck there for life.
I would think that they are both probably unsexed, and are just going through the sexual developement stage.

 

Thanks pack I hope they are unsexed. They were the only 2 in the tank at the LFS but they didn't fight in there. Maybe they were just to new to the environment there. Either way I am going to let nature take its course. At that size though I am leaning towards them not being female yet though.
