the white spot is actually a very small duster worm or tube worm. those little white circle worms with tiny red feathers. the stomatella is all black with a black shell and some purple coralline growing :) he is too active for his own good but i don't see how i would get any more than the one i've added. cant have something grow if it's not introduced - and i dont think my live rock had any... only tiny bristle starfish and bristle worms and other weird little guys that i've read are all good (i paid a lot for top notch rock - lol )

Micro-Brittlestars are one of the best clean up crew member you'll ever have and they cost a fortune to purchase. You rarely see them, but if they are there, they will keep your tank very clean of detrital matter.

I know I've confirmed two maybe three in my tank. Last time I saw one was when I was redoing the aquascape to get most water flow around my rocks while still providing a pleasing look.

They are rare to see, usually during feeding I'll see an arm or two creeping out of the LR trying to catch detritus

Edit: Didn't know they were expensive to purchase, they are very hard to find at the fish store when you're just looking around at frags and what not :p [although that is exactly how I came across the stomatella]

You'll be surprised at what you'll start seeing in your tank that you didn't put in there months after adding your rock. Plus, when you start adding corals you'll also be getting hidden or not-so-hidden hitchhikers too.

ya i had a few collinista snails and i've recently scene some super tiny babies crawling around, makes me happy. it'd be nice if the stomatella reproduces but it's the only one in the tank, nothing else to repopulate with until i go and pick up another one or few :)

+1 i love my collinista snails that hitch hiked, and was super excited today to find a baby about an 1/8 in diameter.. very pretty shell pattern too

What I was trying to say, is you'll probably end up with at least one more either that you haven't seen yet from the rock or from frags that you add later.

I can't wait... tomorrow I'm going to add macroalgae in my tank with the hopes to help supplement the emerald crabs diet as well as give the tank a much less empty and barren feel to it

so last night i was looking around my tank with a flash light and i came across two new specimens I have never seen before in my life. One was too small to take a picture

They both look like isopods but are big and the one I couldn't take a picture of had a white shell with black spots on him, was moving very slowly and probably wasn't any bigger than 2 or 3mm

The other thing however was crawling on the glass trying to have a party with my stomatella, the picture is the best I can do for now, it looks like a slug and on it's head had two black tips, almost like a sting ray would or something, it moved very slowly across the glass and once the light turned on, it tried to crawl into the sand bed
    I wish I had a better picture
[IMG] [still trying to id first picture, no shell just sluggy looking body]

I've ID'ed the smaller one as maybe a baby Chiton? That's what all the pics seem to be, but like I said it was really small and moved slowly...

The other thing I'm still trying to figure out, I guess it looked like the Chiton in shape and movement, but it didn't seem to have a shell and had two little black points where each eye should be
