Last night I rearranged my rockwork, siphoned a lot of detrus up and stored up some sand. So needless to say this would have stirred up any parasites in the sand and all... This morning my male clownfish had black spots, the female had none. What are the differences between just plain black ich and "clownfish disease".
No other fish (including tang and angelfish) are exhibiting the spots

    How big are the spots?

Is the clown hosting in any corals, in particular zoas or palys?

Yep, could be from the coral. Zoas and palys are the worse for the black spots but anything can do it to them. I wouldn't worry much.
