I can't really get a good look at it because it is blurry. I am willing to guess that it is either a form of macroalgae or a encrusting sponge, both of which are benefical to your tank and do not need to be removed or worried about!

Please describe it - does it rub off? if it does I would say Cyano - if its really attached to the rock than I am agreeing with my fellow parrothead above

Look to me like an encrusting sponge as CR has said. Very good sign for your tank

The sponge will prob die as it came in via live rock which is normally transported out of water. Correct me if im wrong but as soon as sponge comes out of water it normally dies.

    Not necessarily Khal!
Their are times when live rock will come in and the dead and decaying algae will be removed and within a short period of time the sponge will grow again. Spores can take hold also, yes air is not good for a sponge to get inside its atrium but it can , at times, survive the ordeal.
