Long story short got this sun coral from a guy that just got board of his 90 gal tank. He had this sun coral in his tank for three months and said it only came out twice since he put it in. He only spot fed it those two times. He gave it to me for 10 bucks and wished me good luck - saying it's probably to far gone.

Well I had a mission to get this guy up and going again and after three days of spot feeding with a plastic bottle lid. Each day it came out a little more.

Well last night great success ;D

Thanks everyone :) I was worried I was fighting a losing battle till Tuesday night when a few feeders started to come out.
Last night he was still open when I went to bed (around 11pm) but was closed this morning.
Any one know how long they stay out? or do they only come out when they smell food in the water?

So is it best to only feed twice a week? I have been feeding everyday but the first two days I don't think they were coming out?
Should I keep feeding everyday for a week or so? I know it might create nitrate issue's but my cuc seems to be working on it so far.

Once they are coming out regularly with you feeding them at night, start feeding them at the same time every day (called day-training). Then they will be open for you even when the lights are on. Once they are doing this consistently, you can start feeding less often. Feed daily for the time being.
